Community Guidelines

Last updated: 15 August 2026

Kissa is a home for storytellers. These guidelines set out what you can publish here, what you cannot, and what happens when someone crosses the line. They apply to every creator, listener and reader.

These guidelines form part of our Terms of Service. Breaking them can cost you your content, your creator status, or your account. Fiction is welcome — including dark fiction — but the rules below are about real-world harm, and they are not negotiable.

1. Kissa is an 18+ platform

You must be at least 18 to hold an account. Our catalogue includes horror, thriller, and crime stories with mature themes. We do not permit content aimed at children, and we do not permit accounts for people under 18. See our Content Disclaimer.

2. What is never allowed

The following are prohibited outright. There is no artistic, satirical, or educational exception, and violations lead to immediate removal and usually a permanent ban. Where the law requires it, we report to the authorities.

Child sexual abuse material and child endangerment

  • Any depiction, description, or sexualisation of a minor, in audio, image, text, or title — real or fictional.
  • Content that grooms, solicits, or endangers a minor in any way.

We report confirmed CSAM to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and preserve evidence as required under Indian law.

Sexual content

  • Pornographic audio or imagery, and content whose primary purpose is sexual arousal.
  • Non-consensual sexual content, or content depicting sexual violence gratuitously.
  • Sexual content involving real, identifiable people published without their consent.

Violence and dangerous acts

  • Real footage or recordings of actual violence, death, or serious injury.
  • Content that incites, praises, or provides instructions for violence.
  • Instructions for making weapons, explosives, or drugs, or for carrying out an attack.
  • Content promoting self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders. Fictional depiction is allowed only where it is clearly framed as fiction and does not read as instruction or encouragement.

Terrorism, extremism, and organised crime

  • Content produced by, or that promotes, recruits for, or raises funds for, a terrorist or violent extremist organisation or an organised criminal group.

Hate speech and harassment

  • Content that attacks, dehumanises, or incites hatred against people based on caste, religion, ethnicity, national origin, race, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or serious disease.
  • Targeted harassment, threats, stalking, or coordinated pile-ons against a specific person.
  • Doxxing — publishing someone’s private address, phone number, identity documents, or financial details without consent.

Deception and impersonation

  • Impersonating another person, creator, brand, or organisation.
  • Synthetic voice cloning of a real person without their documented consent — including public figures.
  • Presenting fabricated events as real news, or medical, legal, or financial misinformation likely to cause harm.
  • Scams, phishing, malware, or links to any of these.

Illegal and infringing content

  • Content you do not have the rights to — copied audio, music, images, or scripts. See Copyright & Takedowns.
  • Sale or promotion of regulated goods: drugs, weapons, endangered wildlife, human organs.
  • Content unlawful under Indian law, including anything that threatens the sovereignty, integrity, or security of India, or public order.

3. Platform integrity

  • No artificial inflation of plays, likes, or follows — bots, click farms, or engagement trading.
  • No spam: repeated uploads of the same work, or misleading titles, covers, or genres.
  • No re-uploading another creator’s Kissa work as your own, and no ban evasion with a second account.
  • No scraping, reverse-engineering, or circumventing our rate limits, playback protections, or upload flow.

4. AI-generated content

Kissa is built for audio films that pair narration with AI-generated imagery, and for written short fiction, so AI tooling is expected and welcome. Two limits apply:

  • Voices: do not clone a real person’s voice without written consent you can produce on request. Synthetic narration of your own writing, in a licensed or original voice, is fine.
  • Likeness: do not generate images depicting a real, identifiable person in a way that could be mistaken for a genuine photograph of them.

5. How content is reviewed

Kissa reviews content before it becomes publicly visible, and again when it is reported.

  • New creators start on a review tier. Everything they publish is held for human review by our moderation team before it appears publicly.
  • Trusted creators — those with a track record of approved episodes — publish immediately, and their work is reviewed reactively on report.
  • Content is publicly visible only when it has been both published by its creator and approved by moderation.

6. Reporting content

Every series, episode, and creator page in the app has a Report action. Use it — reports go straight to the moderation queue and are the fastest route.

  1. Open the series, episode, or creator you want to report.
  2. Choose Report and pick the reason that fits best.
  3. Add any detail that helps us — timestamps are especially useful for long episodes.
  4. You can follow the status of your report from your tickets.

If you cannot use the in-app report — for example you do not have an account — email hello@kissa.texotic.in with a link to the content and what is wrong with it. For copyright specifically, follow the process on Copyright & Takedowns. For a formal complaint under Indian law, see Grievance Redressal.

7. What we do about violations

We weigh severity, intent, and history. A first mistake in a grey area is not treated like deliberate abuse.

ActionWhen we use it
WarningA first, low-severity issue — a misleading title, a wrong genre
Content delistedThe content breaches these guidelines. The creator is told which rule and why
Publishing restrictedRepeated breaches — a trusted creator is moved back to held-for-review
Account suspendedSerious or repeated breaches. Sign-in is blocked and content is removed from public view
Permanent ban and referralCSAM, credible threats, terrorism, or anything else we must report to the authorities

8. Appealing a decision

If we remove your content or restrict your account and you think we got it wrong, open a support ticket from the creator studio, or email hello@kissa.texotic.in with the content link and why you disagree. A person — not an automated system — reviews every appeal, and we aim to answer within 15 days. If you are still unsatisfied, escalate to our Grievance Officer.

9. Changes

These guidelines will change as the platform grows and as new kinds of abuse appear. We post the current version here with the date it took effect. Continuing to use Kissa after a change means you accept the updated guidelines.
